Mongolian-style skewer can be traced back to the period of Genghis Khan. Genghis Khan asked the chef to serve the war horses slayed in battle by slicing their meat into small pieces and grilling them with a variety of Mongolian spices in order to feed the hungry soldiers during the wartime.
